ABOUT

What makes us different?

Range Sports Medicine and Performance differs from traditional chiropractic care in simple terms. We believe your pain and/or limited ranges of motion are caused by unhealthy tissue – not a ‘misalignment,’ or because your bones are ‘out of place.’ We believe this because it is supported by clinical research. The unhealthy tissue must be physically changed into healthy tissue through rehabilitation. This process is very straightforward, but it requires work both on the part of the patient and the clinician.

Treatment at Range is threefold – we address muscle spasms with active soft tissue techniques; chiropractic adjustments help to restore joint mobility; and rehabilitation therapy is performed to improve strength and range of motion.

Is Range Sports Medicine & Performance a good fit for me?

Patient education is crucial to the successful management of an injury or chronic pain. This means keeping an open mind to new information which may be contrary to what you have been told about your body in the past. Our treatment model is informed by the best available research in neuromusculoskeletal care – these same methods are currently being employed by the majority of professional sports leagues in North America and Europe (including our own Portland Trailblazers!), which is what is now driving their clinical implementation.

Along with a thorough understanding of what is causing pain and how to address it, all patients at Range are given a home rehabilitation program during their course of treatment. Tissue change requires time and effort; if the clinic is the only location where you are changing tissue, problems that should take weeks to manage end up taking months.
